I’m Bonnie, willing to be real with you.
From go-go dancer to decades dedicated to a global non-profit… throw in world travel & more. It’s too much to say here. So I’m writing a book to share my crazy 80+ years of experience, strength, & hope. The book isn’t ready but you can read snippets from it in my blog. These are some of the things I like to talk about…
Dancing
Friendships
George~ my husband
Al-Anon
Aging and more…
Dancing has always been part of my life …
I started dancing when I started walking. It’s one of my earliest memories. My parents were great dancers. They couldn't afford to pay for dance lessons for me so my dad taught me to dance and even took me to see the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
I did go to all the proms because there was dancing. Looking back at pictures now, I see how beautiful my prom dresses were. Back then, I didn't appreciate them because my mom made them. I wanted store bought dresses and gowns.
Dancing gave me the confidence to keep going after I graduated from high school. My parents worried about me because the dancing places I went to were not the nicest of places. I drove them crazy.
I met the Fendermen band at a nightclub. They had the idea to build lighted cages for their own go-go dancers. They asked me to be one of the three dancers. Of course I said yes!
I met George in 1971. He was so intellectual and I was the go-go dancer. We’re still in love and we’re still dancing!
