George had said: No dogs. Then I agreed to take care of Maggie, a King Charles Cavalier. Maggie belonged to our neighbor in Cape Coral who traveled frequently and I volunteered to take care of her for a month or two at a time. I said: Well, I’m doing it anyway.
One night I went to visit my mother and stayed overnight with her in the hospital. I came home and there was George playing with Maggie on the floor. Maggie ended up loving George more than me! She would even sleep above his head in bed at night.
Everyone loved Maggie!
We commissioned an artist, Gretchen Kish Serrano, to paint Maggie. When the oil painting was complete, we had a party to introduce the painting to our friends.
